TrendPhysics^®® clusters groups of profiles into clusters, known as Sectors. These include large categories of profiles to track as a group, such as “Arts & Culture” or “Brands & Products”. Each profile is assigned a single sector and subsector combination for a tree-browsable structure of the TrendPhysics^®® tagging system. Sector-wide analysis shows differentiation, averages, and leaders between and across clusters in both high-level macro to detailed perspectives. Each sector is then further segmented into sub-sectors such as “Art Galleries” or “Shopping/Retail”. Sectors help TrendPhysics^®® accurately control for sector-wide variation to help measure performance and make better predictions. Analysts can use sectors to track profiles of similar industries, and compare against clustered trends.
